Mandy Chung graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1994 with a bachelors degree with first class honors in Psychology.
After graduating, Mandy joined Nielsen in Hong Kong as a Client Service Executive. Nielsen is the largest market research company in the world and has market leadership positions in most countries throughout Asia. In 1999, Mandy was relocated to Nielsen Shanghai, promoted to Client Service Manager in Retail Services, and asked to help drive the rapid growth of the Nielsen business in mainland China. Mandy has remained based in Shanghai since that time.
Over the last decade with Nielsen in China, Mandy became a key part of the company’s growth in this critical market, taking on larger and larger roles – first by directly managing a large portfolio of clients where her key roles included account planning, market analysis, provision of advisory services and business development. In 2003, Mandy moved to a leadership role, successfully building a team of sales and service professionals. This team worked with more than 50 local and multi-national clients all over China. Her focus on training and developing a strong team in order to develop sustainable business growth and create strong, trusting, client relationships was an important contribution to Nielsen’s growth in the mainland China market.
Mandy’s career with Nielsen has exposed her to distinctly different people, working styles, corporate cultures and demands. Her last role with Nielsen was as the Client Service Director and by that time her team had grown to 100 people. Mandy speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
